The bugul noz is a fey of such monstrous ugliness that the mere sight of it can break a brave heart — a lonely, sorrowful creature whose only mercy is that it is as horrified by its own reflection as anyone is by its face.
In play
Frightful Presence (aura, emotion, fear, mental) 60 feet, DC 29. Animals take a –2 circumstance penalty to the Will save.
Horrid Visage (visual) Creatures that see the bugul noz must succeed at a DC 31 Fortitude saving throw. On a failure, creatures are doomed 1 (or doomed 2 on a critical failure).
Mirror Vulnerability Upon seeing its own reflection in a mirror or other reflective surface, the bugul noz must succeed at a DC 34 Will save or become confused and immobilized for 1d4 – 1 rounds (minimum 1 round). While confused and immobilized, the bugul noz cries and wallows in misery, making it immune to visual and auditory effects for the duration.
