Ancient Underworld Dragon

A furnace-bodied dragon of the deep places rules lightless caverns with sweltering heat that only water can briefly cool.

rareDragonFire

The ancient underworld dragon is a creature of subterranean fire, its body a furnace fed by the deep places of the world. It rules the lightless caverns below with sweltering heat, and only water can briefly cool its inner blaze.

In play

  • Countered by Water If the underworld dragon takes damage from a spell with the cold or water trait, the elemental magic of fire within them is momentarily dampened. Until the end of their next turn, they take a –1 circumstance penalty to attack rolls, their jaws Strikes don't deal fire damage, and also lose their sweltering heat aura. This limitation ends if the dragon uses Breath Weapon.
  • Fed by Wood When an underworld dragon is struck by a weapon made primarily of wood or affected by a spell with the plant trait, the dragon's internal fiery essences are stoked with the added fuel.
