The Scrabblewarrens

A goblin warren so chaotic that even its creators lose their way—trap-laden tunnels spiral in directions that make no sense.

A chaotic network of goblin-dug tunnels beneath a hillside, expanded and rebuilt so many times that even the goblins get lost.

Environment Underground

The Scrabblewarrens are a sprawling, disorganized mess of interconnected tunnels, chambers, and dead ends dug by successive generations of goblin tribes. Passages range from spacious caverns to crawlspaces barely wide enough for a halfling, connected by crude ladders, rope bridges over pits, and the occasional stolen mining cart on rickety rails. The goblins have rigged the place with an absurd density of traps — falling rocks, pit traps covered in painted canvas, spring-loaded spear walls, and barrels of alchemist's fire suspended from ceilings. Navigation is a nightmare, as tunnels branch and loop with no logic, and the goblins constantly dig new passages and collapse old ones. Medium and larger creatures face difficult terrain penalties throughout most of the complex.
