Environment Mountain
Galebreak Pass is a narrow trail carved along a cliff face at extreme altitude, connecting two valleys separated by an otherwise impassable ridge. The pass is notorious for its winds — channeled and accelerated by the terrain into sustained gales that can hurl an armored warrior off the cliff edge. The crossing takes a full day in good conditions and is simply impossible during storms. Crude shelters built into cliff niches along the route offer respite, but many have collapsed or been claimed by territorial creatures. The bones and equipment of failed travelers accumulate at the base of the cliffs below, and scavengers — both mundane and monstrous — patrol the route looking for weakened prey. Tactical movement along the narrow path means creatures must move single-file, with limited options for flanking.
