Action to exhale destructive energy in a cone or line (determined by Draconic Ancestry), dealing 2d6 damage scaling to 5d6 at 16th level; targets save on DEX or CON (DC 8 + CON modifier + proficiency). Recharge on short or long rest. Search fit: dragon-ancestry feat, area damage recharge, draconic ability.

Grants resistance to the damage type matched to your Draconic Ancestry choice, halving damage from attacks and spells of that type. Search fit: draconic resistance, halved damage, ancestry-based mitigation.

Born from a draconic bloodline, dragonborn carry the proud heritage of dragons in humanoid form.

Features:

Draconic Ancestry: Choose a dragon type from the Draconic Ancestry table when you select this species. This determines your Breath Weapon damage type and your Damage Resistance.
Breath Weapon: When you take the Attack action, you can replace one attack with an exhalation of magical energy in either a 15-foot Cone or a 30-foot Line that is 5 feet wide (your choice). Each creature in the area makes a Dexterity save (DC 8 + Constitution modifier + proficiency bonus), taking 1d10 damage of your ancestry's type on a failed save or half on a successful one. The damage increases by 1d10 at 5th, 11th, and 17th level.
Damage Resistance: Resistance to the damage type associated with your Draconic Ancestry.
Darkvision: 60 feet.
Languages: Common and Draconic.
