Blinding white salt flats stretch to the horizon under a merciless sun, the cracked surface forming geometric patterns that seem almost intentional. The skeletal remains of sea creatures the size of galleons lie half-buried in the salt, their rib cages providing the only shade for miles. Mirages shimmer constantly, and the ruins of ancient port cities rise from the flats like stone ghosts, their docks and piers reaching toward water that vanished ages ago. At night, the salt glows faintly blue under starlight.
