Cindermaw Mines
Underground mining complex breached into a volcanic fissure, presenting extreme heat, magma flows, toxic volcanic gas, and unstable tunnel supports alongside harvestable fire-forge...
Abandoned mining tunnels that broke into a volcanic fissure. Rich in rare ore but deadly hot in the lower levels.
The mine entrance is marked by scorched timber supports and a blast of dry heat from below. Upper tunnels show signs of orderly mining — ore cart tracks, tool marks, supply caches — but the deeper sections tell a different story. Walls glow dull red where the tunnels breached a volcanic fissure, and rivers of sluggish magma flow through channels in the rock. Rare fire-forged ore glitters in the walls, tantalizingly close to the lethal heat. The miners left in a hurry; their belongings remain.
